This type of Audit relates to the usage and disposal of photographic chemicals, and other photo-related waste products. It will be carried out by an experienced member of Fuji Hunt’s Technical Service staff and should take no more than a day. The Audit will seek to find opportunities to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle throughout the laboratory. It involves the examination of all waste products - from film canisters, through packaging, to chemical containers - and an assessment of the potential to Reduce, Reuse or Recycle wherever possible. It will answer such questions as: are all legal requirements being met with regard to waste to drain ? what can be done to minimise the environmental impact of waste products, and how could the amount going to drain be reduced ? should liquid waste be put automatically to drain, or evaporated off in order to reduce its volume, prior to being stored and awaiting collection ? are sufficient amounts of certain items – for example single use cameras – being collected for recycling ?The Environmental Audit Report will not only help to ensure legal compliance, but will offer the opportunity to make substantial savings.
